GRAVESTONES and CEMETERIES

CEMETERIES-- CAN BE A BIG HELP IN FAMILY TREE RESEARCH.  WHILE SEARCHING FOR FAMILY PLOTS AND INDIVIDUAL STONES, ONE CAN FIND NEW NAMES AND DATES TO FILL IN SOME BLANKS ON HIS OR HER PEDIGREE FORM. THERE IS A SITE CALLED FINDAGRAVE.COM WHERE YOU CAN SEARCH FOR FAMILY SITES AND STONES, OR REQUEST A PHOTO OF A STONE.  IT IS ALSO A SITE WHERE A PERSON CAN TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS OF STONES FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHO DO NOT RESIDE NEAR THAT PARTICULAR CEMETERY. A PERSON TAKES THE ASSIGNMENT, PHOTOGRAPHS THE STONE AND POSTS IT ON THE INTERNET SITE.

My Aunt Cindy (Berry) and Uncle Frank (Berry) visit a family site at a cemetery in Camden, Maine. Frank died last year 2011.  He is survived by his daughter and son, and 2 beautiful granddaughters. He resided in Burlington, VT.

Ralph Berry and Louise are my mother's parents (my grandparents).  They are buried in different spots, Ralph in Camden, Maine and Louise in Rockport, Maine to rest in the cemetery of her second husband, Charles Dodge. Ralph is buried with his family (see photo above, that is his family plot).

Alexander Norrie and Christian Park are my paternal grandmother, Ruth's grandparents.  This stone is most likely in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Kirkyard, Skene, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

My job is to find out if these people are somehow related to the family listed on the stone above.  These names are all very common in this area at that time period, and I have reached a standstill in searching for my Scottish family members once the search went back to Scotland.  I do remember my grandmother mentioning a relative Glashan.  One was an architectural artist who has done some amazing drawings and paintings.
Learned--- my Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Norrie's sister, Mary Norrie married William Glashan, the architect.

My paternal grandfather, Wallace A. Lindquist's great- grandparents on his mother's side, George & Louisa, are buried in upstate New York near the Catskills in Cairo Cemetery in New York.  The person I got these photos from also had a map of the cemetery.  The woman is my grandfather, Wallace's brother Maurice's child, Laura.

Hadley B. Miller and Pauline O. Stone-
German Protestant Cemetery, Waldoboro, Maine

A short history of the Miller/Mueller family is on the back of this stone.  Patriarch/Martiarch- Franck Mueller and Anna Mayer

I am directly related to Franck Mueller and Anna Mayer (and therefore obviously to Hadley and his wife Pauline) and photographed this stone because of the information on the back.
